gratitude.

The beautiful Callie Simms tagged me for a meme on gratitude, a list of five things for which I’m grateful. There’s too much to list, but for now, at this moment, it’s these:
1) New York, where I can live anonymously without ever feeling alone.
2) Owen, a reader, for his thoughts on PTSD. He’s made it easier for me to take steps toward a normal night’s sleep.
3) Gabriel, for letting me let my guard down.
4) Inspiring women (Kasia, Dacia, Chelsea, Peridot, Susannah, and so many more) for their honesty and authenticity.
5) Freedom.

do you think you might pass on some of Owen’s thoughts on PTSD?
i feel they might be useful to me as well…
and i too am grateful to freedom… in fact my five (if you’re curious)
i am grateful for:
living in a time and place when it’s okay to take care of myself and i am not chattel (unless i choose to be)
smart parents who enjoyed teaching me to think
sex toys
my cats for finding me
my calling for doing the same.
:)
Number five is a hard one to remember from time to time.
This a good exercise to do on a daily basis.
I try to write a list each morning of ten things for which I am grateful. Then, when my attitude dips because of stuff going on, I take out the list and concentrate on one of my items on the list.
Life is as good as I allow it to be.

Looks you have much to be grateful for. Surprising that sex didn’t make it onto your list – but it may have been too obvious or too attainable.
I’m sure I speak for many readers when I say that we’re grateful to you for insightful, thoughtful and stimulating writing. And for other stuff, also …
You listed New York as number one. I presume New York City… if so may I alert you to the bountiful pleasures of bicycle riding in Manhattan? Nothing beats a ride around the area of mid town down to south ferry. There are so many beautiful and provocative women out and about, fascinating places to stop and eat or to relax and let the world go by. The street life is superb. Throbbing, erotic, sublime, in your face, a visual hormone that pours into your consciousness and never leaves. A Central Park to South Ferry meander by bicycle is the best way to see the city as it thrives and pulses with life on a mild summer day… You are anonymous and you are never alone. Enjoy. Pickle
Love your writing and i must say that i agree with you on New York.
