I think that’s a bit unfair, Kate. Either you’re someone who finds it easy to conform or someone who doesn’t have something to lose by maintaining appearances. To say that you and society SHOULD accept who you really are is not to say that society DOES. And rather than blame the victim in some of these cases, you should instead concentrate on what the causes of this pattern are. If Weiss is wrong, then who is right? Can you cite your source?

I thought the weiss article was bullshit and a very long winded way to excuse treating those you profess to love with out the respect due to intelligent adults perfectly capable of deciding what sort of relationship they want to be in.

be monogamous or don’t be. don’t espouse one set of rules publicly and live by another. it’s dishonest, unethical, immature and weak. be brave enough to live the life you believe in.

It’s interesting to me how the active women bloggers I know adamantly do not want to meet partners, clients, through their blog. Which is 180 degrees from some male bloggers I know.

The thing that struck me about the Weiss article and here is the tone of the commenting. So very different. I’m wondering what the fallout for Mr. Weiss will be.
